New Chapter Alpha Release: Setting Up Godot for Pixel Art
Hello there!
I'm excited to share that the latest chapter of our course is now live! ๐
This chapter, titled Setting Up Godot for Pixel Art, is all about getting Godot Engine ready to properly render your pixel art games. It aims to help you achieve that crisp, clean look we all love in pixel art.
What's Inside?
In this chapter, I walk you through the essential steps to ensure your pixel art looks fantastic in Godot. From setting the correct import settings to configuring the viewport, every detail matters when you're working with such an art style. You'll learn how to adjust settings like filtering, stretch modes, and 2D pixel snap, ensuring your game looks perfect on any screen.
What's Next?
But we're just getting started! In the next chapter, we'll dive into importing the Kings and Pigs tileset assets and implementing them in Godot using the new TilemapLayer node, introduced in Godot 4.3, along with the Tileset resource. I'll also cover how to set the tileset's bitmask—a topic that often confuses even experienced developers. I'll break it down step by step so you can confidently create seamless and functional tilemaps.
Stay tuned, and let's keep building something awesome together!
