Godot 2D Encounter System
Create your Next Game with Battle-tested Solutions
This is a Godot Engine implementation of the 🟢Encounter Containment gameplay pattern from the Ludonauts Gameplay Library.
Get the complete collection of gameplay patterns with insights to help you design and build your dream games.
The Encounter Containment is a room-state mechanism that enforces spatial boundaries around the player for the duration of a triggered event, preventing exit until the event resolves.
Use when you want to create high-intensity, focused encounters where the player cannot trivially avoid conflict by retreating. It raises the stakes of entering a space and signals that this area is a deliberate, authored challenge. Use over open-world encounters when pacing demands a clear beginning-middle-end structure for combat events.
